A Christmas message from our CEO

A Christmas message from our CEO

Dear friends,

I have been grabbed by this phrase “For with God nothing will be impossible” when reading about

Mary in Luke 1 v 34-38 (NKJV).

It is in this mindset that I want to wish you a joyous and full of expectant hope Advent season. I’ve been reminded of the mystery and depth of trust expressed when reading Mary’s question and response to the angel Gabriel’s news of Jesus’ conception .

I know several of the PRIME family have had a stormy 2024. Tutors have had individual, family and work concerns. All of us face what can appear like a level of uncertainty not seen in the last decade or generations. But Gabriel’s clear statement to Mary, that ‘nothing is impossible for God’ in answering her very reasonable question about how she could conceive, reminded me of the similar journey of trust in a 21st century state of geopolitical and financial turmoil that I and PRIME are on.

PRIME continues its very challenging journey as 2025 approaches. The organisation is focusing hard on what is our core purpose, how our limited resources can be best utilised, and how this translates into deliverable outcomes. This requires the Exec, Trustees and me asking some searching but realistic questions just like Mary. This process is ongoing. Yet I believe God is still blessing the global activities of PRIME International.

Thank you to those who have helped us reach £3,311 (as of 16th December) towards our target of £75,000. I am humbled by the PRIME’s family generosity. Our 2024 Christmas Appeal is looking to raise the funds needed to continue PRIME into 2025 and beyond.

There is still time to give and we’re planning a New Year update to envision us all for the year ahead.

We can’t see the whole future ahead us in 2025, but I want to urge you all to continue walking with us and trusting in our role model of Jesus Christ. And as we prepare to celebrate His birth around the world, we can reflect how Mary’s simple, yet profound agreement and acceptance of God’s prompting changed the world for ever.

So, be encouraged and of good cheer as we, the PRIME family, prepare to celebrate our 20th birthday in 2025. I want to personally thank you for all you have done for us, however small or large a contribution, as Mike Davies’ recent message in the second Christmas appeal email states, without your efforts, none of what has been achieved could have been possible’.

I know you will continue to pray for the core leadership – Operations Team, the Executive and Trustees as we address the financial challenges of next year. Thank you, as I know your prayers support our ability in finding the way forward.

I look forward to meeting you to join in our birthday celebrations at the PRIME UK/Europe Conference at Yarnfield Park 28th-30th March 2025. A quick reminder it is not too late to book and that the early bird reduced rates deadline is 19th January.

I know some people struggle to embrace Christmas with its various culturally determined layers of meaning and outward expression. However you feel about the festive season, I wish you all a joyous, peace-filled, restful Christmas. I pray that just as Mary pondered in her heart the angelic message, that 2025 will be enthused with hope and a deepening trust in God’s unfailing compassionate care for you and His world.

Best wishes

PRIME HQ will be closed from the 20th December to the 6th of January to give our staff a much needed rest.
